T. J. Dampier is a sensitive, smart, and creative genius of a child. He just turned twelve years old, but his writing shows the maturity of someone much wiser. He lives in San Jose, California, and attends Holly Oak Elementary School as a sixth grader. T. J., who is known as Trevis by his friends, enjoys playing basketball and football. In fact, he was awarded defensive player of the year! In addition to sports, T. J. is both an honor student and a member of the Gifted and Talented Program, known as GATE at his school.T. J. has a gift for writing. Whenever he gets a moment, he sits down and composes short stories. His grandmother, who is an author, loved his stories and encouraged him to keep writing. This book is his first in a series of published works. T. J. has a loving family consisting of his father, his mother, his two sisters, a brother, and a host of relatives.
