José Luiz Tejon Megido is the result of deep and real troubles. He is an adopted son and, as early as the age of 4, his face was deformed by a severe burn. This transformation made him spend about twelve years semi-inpatient in hospitals, facing the reality of life with friends from his street, in public schools, and constantly hearing the voice of his adoptive father, who used to say: "son, you can't be ashamed of yourself, but you do need to be honorable."
Tejon holds a PhD in Education Sciences from the Universidad de la Empresa (UDE), in Uruguay, a master's degree from Mackenzie University, and specializations from Harvard, MIT and Insead. He is currently an MBA professor at Audencia, in Nantes, France, and coordinator of the Agribusiness Center at Fundação Escola de Comércio Álvares Penteado (FECAP), in São Paulo. He is also partner-director of Biomarketing at TCA International and was a director for the groups O Estado de S. Paulo, Agroceres and Jacto S/A. An awarded professional, he was elected Top of Mind speaker of the country by the Estadão RH Award.
His lectures reach listeners in several countries and he has 34 published books (authored and co-authored), including the bestsellers O voo do cisne, O beijo na realidade, A grande virada, Liderança para fazer acontecer, O código da superação, and Warriors Are Not Born Ready, all published by Editora Gente. Tejon has four children, a grandson, and two granddaughters-the latest arrived along with this book. For him, his extensive resumé is the result of education and cradle learning about not waiting for ready perfection, but rather, always seek to perfect the imperfect, turning discomforts into tools of the will to live.
