Her kind doctor husband was struck down by a senseless act of violence at his inner-city clinic in Chicago on August 4, 1964. The killer has not yet been found. Now she and her daughter seek to start a fresh life by moving to her grandparents long-abandoned estate, nestled in the lovely Ozark region of Arkansas. Elizabeths daughter, Alexandria, misses her father terribly, and now she must face extreme culture shock as shes thrown from modern Chicago society to the slower pace of Carterville. She misses her friends, and she misses the life shes had to leave behind, the only life shes ever known.
Her mother cannot let go of the blinding hatred she feels for the person who killed her husband. When the police finally catch the killer, she wants to make sure hes punished to the maximum for what he did, and most Chicagoans agree with her.
Read how, little by little, the hand of God works in these peoples lives and heals them completely. But dont skip to the ending, because there are unexpected events that will keep the reader in suspense to the very last page.
Life seemed almost ideal for the author especially after finding Christ in her very early 20's. She loved being the mother of her two active sons, and felt there was no higher calling on earth. But unfortunately life was about to change drastically. After eleven years of marriage, her husband found another he loved more than her. She was left stunned by his betrayal as she wrestled with life as a single mother. Her heart broke further as she watched her eight and ten year old sons struggling desperately to cope with the pain of their abandonment. But through the pain and the struggling, she learned the fullness of Gods love for her. And through that knowledge, she became strong again.
The author moved from the Sacramento area of California to the Ozarks almost ten years ago. She is now retired and is living in a beautiful little town quite similar to Carterville. This is the town where she has drawn her backdrop for "The Rosarium".
This book is fictional and all the characters and names are fictional, but it is based on numerous testimonies and her own life's tragedies and triumphs.
