Autoren-Porträt von Robert Walanka
Robert has been a media specialist in Cicero School District 99 for the last thirteen years. His love of reading and sharing books to children inspired the writing of his first book, “The Insect King.” His second book, which is soon to be published, is called “The Wunderful Tree.” Before teaching in Cicero, Robert taught grades three to seven in Chicago’s public schools for eighteen years. It is in Chicago that Robert collected and saved wonderful, inciteful, creative expressive writings from his students about their feelings of “A Peaceful World.” It was their energies that inspired him to create a play about peace called "It Can Be Done, It Must!" He has also written a play about Hiroshima, which he has performed in two schools in Cicero's school district. He is also excited about sharing his new poetry book, which is a collection of his favorite poems created in the past several years.Robert has been a media specialist in Cicero School District 99 for the last thirteen years.
