Mary Joyner-Stoddard has been named Poet of the Year 2015. She has received multiple awards for excellence in poetry. Mary is gifted with the talent of telling a story with rhythm and rhyme. Midwest living, Christian values, and a love of family are present in her work. A common thread in her stories is a happiness connection.

Mary's work is being transformed into children's picture books. These books are a tool to introduce the youngest readers to the world of literature. Through the Keyhole books will give entertainment and an appreciation for the life and times of earlier generations. She wants her stories to be lighthearted and heartwarming.

Being legally blind for over thirty years has not been a barrier to Mary Joyner-Stoddard. She believes that sometimes, things are seen clearer through the window of the heart. When asked why she writes poetry, she responded, "I want to leave a piece of myself for my grandchildren. I want them to hear love in my words."
