Volume 1 begins by covering general requirements for bench lathes, how to care for and improve work equipment, tools and materials, preparation for turning, and safety during work. Jürgen Eichardt takes the reader with him into his hobby workshop and teaches him to marvel at the tiny prototypical model parts.
