By incorporating the 2013 NAGC/CEC Teacher Preparation Standards in Gifted and Talented Education, this guidebook helps university faculty at the undergraduate and graduate levels design or revise gifted education programs and partner with other educators in developing gifted education teachers.

NAGC aims to help parents and families, K-12 education professionals including support service personnel, and members of the research and higher education community who work to help gifted and talented children as they strive to achieve their personal best and contribute to their communities.Joyce VanTassel-Baska, Ed.D., is the Jody and Layton Smith Professor Emerita of Education and former Executive Director of the Center for Gifted Education at William & Mary in Virginia, where she developed a graduate program and a research and development center in gifted education. She also initiated and directed the Center for Talent Development at Northwestern University.
