Sc., Ph.D. (Victoria University of Manchester), Ph.D. (Institute of Far Eastern Studies), is currently Director of the Center for Comprehensive Chinese Studies and Regional Projects (MGIMO University). Mikhail Karpov, M.A. in Political Science (Central European University, Budapest (1994)), Ph.D. in World History (Institute of Asian and African Studies, Moscow State University (1995)), is an Associate Professor at the School of Asian Studies, College of World Economy and International Affairs at the Russian Higher School of Economics.
