[Church Music as a Socioreligious Practice. Studies on Religion, Music and Group Interaction]On the basis of a member survey in Northern Germany this study addresses the trombone choir as an exemplary ecclesial practice and examines the question how social, musical and religious aspects interconnect in that practice. The first part of the study deals with the dynamisation and socialisation of an individualistically restricted concept of religion by means of the concept of a practice of self-transcendence. Then, from a musicological perspective, the author develops a theory of ecclesial music-making which re-evaluates the role of instrumental music-making as well as the role of worship.
Autoren-Porträt von Julia Koll
Julia Koll, PD Dr. theol., Jahrgang 1975, studierte Evangelische Theologie in Marburg und Berkeley. Sie ist Pastorin der Ev.-luth. Landeskirche Hannovers und Studienleiterin für Theologie und Ethik an der Evangelischen Akademie Loccum. Koll ist Mitglied in der Wissenschaftlichen Gesellschaft für Theologie, der Liturgischen Konferenz der EKD, des Arbeitskreises Empirische Religionsforschung e.V., der Europäischen Gesellschaft für theologische Forschung von Frauen sowie der Sektion Religionssoziologie der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Soziologie.
