Autoren-Porträt von Jon Fosse
Jon Fosse, geboren 1959 in der norwegischen Küstenstadt Haugesund. Lebt seit Mitte der siebziger Jahre in Bergen. Er studierte Vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft und war Dozent an der Akademie für kreatives Schreiben in Hordaland. Seit Anfang der neunziger Jahre ist er freier Schriftsteller. Er schreibt Romane, Theaterstücke, Gedichtsammlungen, Essays und Kinderbüchern. Fosse erhielt den Ibsen-Preis sowie 2000 den österreichischen Theaterpreis "Nestroy". 2000 wurde Fosse außerdem der Nordische Theaterpreis verliehen. 2003 wurde er mit dem Ehrenpreis des Norwegischen Kulturrats sowie mit dem norwegischen Amanda-Ehrenpreis ausgezeichent und in Frankreich als "Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Mérite" geehrt.
