Juan Pablo Salgado-Guerrero is Vice-Rector of Research at Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (UPS). He obtained his PhD degree in Economics and Innovation for Sustainable Development at Università degli Studi di Ferrara, Italy, been recognized for the best doctoral tesis on June 4th, 2018, during the "IUSS Day" ceremony. He has also a Master's Degree in Innovation for Business Development, from Tecnológico de Monterrey, México, and graduated Mechanical Engineer with mention in Machine Design at UPS. He was Secretary of Liaison with the Internationalization Collective at UPS; Secretary of Human and Economic Development of the Municipality of Cuenca, Ecuador; Manager of the City of Sciences. Coordinator of Public Policy at the City Council in the areas of Social and Economic Development, Culture, Education, Health, and Tourism; Executive Representative of the Mayor and President of the Directories of Public Companies; Advisor to the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy; Member of the Trust "Por Cuenca" with private companies and the Chamber of Industries of the city of Cuenca since March 2020.
