He is currently a Professor in the Department of Electrical engineering, National Institute of Technology, Silchar, Assam, India. Dr. Roy has 33 years of teaching experience. He has been actively involved with various administrative activities both at departmental and institute levels. He is a member of many professional bodies like The Institute of Engineers (India), IEEE, ISA, Senior Member of International Association for Computer Science and Information Technology and a Life Member
