Pramod Kumar Pandey is the Director, ICAR-Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research, Bhimtal, India. Before joining as Director, he has served as Dean, College of Fisheries, Central Agricultural University, Imphal for more than 5 years and before that, as Scientist, Senior Scientist and Principal Scientist in Indian Council of Agricultural Research- Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai for 27 years. He has completed his undergraduate from Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, Master and PhD in Fisheries Science from ICAR- Central Institute for Fisheries Education, Mumbai. His major research interest is aquatic environment management. He has published more than 140, peer-reviewed international and national research papers, 6 books and has delivered several invited talks and keynote addresses in numerous national and international seminars and symposia. He has been the Team Leader of the mega research project "Centre of Excellence in Fisheries and Aquaculture Biotechnology" funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. Presently, he is serving as President, Coldwater Fisheries Society of India and earlier, he has served as president, North East Society for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Agartala and General Secretary, Indian Fisheries Association based at ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai, India. He has been conferred with several fellowships i.e. Zoological Society of India, Gaya; Society of Biological Sciences & Rural Development, Allahabad and national awards such as Best Teacher Award by Heeralal Chaudhuri Fisheries Foundation, Mumbai; and Paryayvaran Sanrakshak Award 2020 by Bharat Tarun Sangh, Alwar.
