More than 90 salons are presented, with their hostesses and guests from a variety of backgrounds. This special edition dispenses with a critical apparatus. It contains additional illustrations and an appendix with descriptions of addresses and locations in modern Berlin which are reminders of this important cultural and historical institution. The references are arranged topographically, so that they provide a ready guide for strolls through the city.
