In this practice-oriented manual with numerous case examples, the most common crisis theories are first explained. In further chapters, the potential dangers of crises are discussed and a systematic presentation of the methodology and potential applications of crisis intervention is provided. This second edition has been expanded to include chapters on e-mail counselling in crises and on crisis intervention for people with a migration background.
Autoren-Porträt von Claudius Stein
Claudius Stein, MD, is a general practitioner and psychotherapist (KIP) in private practice. He has been the medical director of the Crisis Intervention Center in Vienna for 20 years, and is also a teaching therapist for catathymic imaginative psychotherapy (ÖGATAP), a lecturer for the German Society for Catathymic Image Experience (AGKB) and a trauma therapist. He is deputy chair of the Austrian Society for Suicide Prevention, a member of the expert panel of the Suicide Prevention Austria (SUPRA) Contact Point on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Health and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Lindau Psychotherapy Weeks. His scientific research concerns include crisis intervention, grief and loss, suicide prevention, psychotraumatology and psychotherapeutic work with the imagination. He also regularly conducts continuing education and training events on these topics.
