Autoren-Porträt von Stefan Keil
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Keil (Jg. 1937) studierte Maschinenbau an der RWTH Aachen, Abschluss 1963 als Dipl.-Ing. Seine ersten beruflichen Aufgaben fand er bei der damaligen Hamburger Flugzeugbau GmbH, wo er Festigkeitsuntersuchungen an Flugzeugteilen durchführte. 1970 promovierte er an der RWTH Aachen mit einer Arbeit über Festigkeitsbetrachtungen bei dynamischer Belastung und wurde mit der Borchers-Plakette ausgezeichnet. Von 1971 bis 1996 war Stefan Keil leitender Angestellter mit Handlungsvollmacht bei der Hottinger Baldwin Messtechnik GmbH, wo er sich speziell mit der Anwendung der Messtechnik in der experimentellen Mechanik befasste. Dort betreute er über 20 Jahre lang die Fachzeitschrift "Messtechnische Briefe" und gründete die englischsprachige Zeitschrift "Reports in Applied Measurement". Von 1996 bis 1999 war er Projektkoordinator des kooperativen Forschungsprojekts EXTRA II auf dem Gebiet des Bauingenieurwesens. 1995 veröffentlichte er das Buch "Beanspruchungsermittlung mit Dehnungsmessstreifen", in dem er seine in 30jähriger praktischer Tätigkeit auf diesem Gebiet gesammelten Erfahrungen zusammenfasste. Ein Lehrauftrag an der TU Clausthal gibt ihm bis heute Gelegenheit, seine Erfahrungen an die nächste Generation weiterzugeben. Dort wurde er 2003 zum Honorarprofessor bestellt. 2010 verlieh ihm der VDl die Ehrenplakette. Über 60 Fachveröffentlichungen, eine Vielzahl von Fachvortragen auf nationalen und internationalen Konferenzen und Symposien sowie eine langjährige beratende Tätigkeit auf den Gebieten der experimentellen Spannungsermittlung und Beanspruchungsanalyse sprechen für die hervorragende fachliche Kompetenz des Autors.
